“I recently had the pleasure of working with Dom Jones at ‘The Old Vicarage’ in Ashley. I’d had a surreal premonition that Dom would be sporting a dog collar and a toothy grin, and half way though the session would lisp “I’m afraid we’ll have to finish by five or I’ll be late for Evensong”
But It turns out Dom’s not a vicar after all. Of course not, he’s a recording engineer and a musician. Seemed to know his stuff too. The studio is a nice space, and has a relaxed and creative vibe, and most importantly the results sounded excellent. I was working with Sue Robbie the FVO who I hadn’t seen for ages. We soon got down to original V/O chit- chat like “Are you busy at the moment?” etc. All in all it was an enjoyable and successful session. I didn’t have to negotiate a circle of smokers on the way in, and there was no parking attendant for miles. Bliss. I’m hoping to be invited back soon.”
